Restaurant Industry Hot Topics for 2024

By Kevin Stockslager, EVP & Partner, Wray Executive Search

With the Restaurant Leadership Conference kicking off next week, a review of the agenda can tell a brief tale of the key topics industry leaders are considering in 2024. Our team looks forward to attending this year and getting more insight into the challenges and opportunities facing the restaurant industry moving forward.

The evolution of the full service dining segment has been a much discussed topic over the years and look no further than the first session of the conference (after the ever-popular golf tournament of course) to continue the dialogue. C-suite leaders from some of the nation’s leading full service brands, including Dine Brands, Fogo de Chao, Union Square Hospitality Group, Ascent Hospitality Management, and Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux will get together to provide insights and potential solutions to the segment’s biggest topics. Amongst the areas the group will consider include 3rd party delivery, new technology, and current updates on the supply chain.

Predictably, the latest in industry technology will be heavily featured. Scheduled sessions include a range of technology/digital focused topics, including the digital shifts in QSR, how to best utilize ChatGPT, unlocking the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), unifying a brand’s digital strategy, and the latest news on new technology being implemented by industry leaders.

Finally, we look forward to attending general sessions focused on the current state of the restaurant industry, trends that will define the future of foodservice, and how to address potential challenges facing the industry now and in the future.

See everyone in Arizona for another amazing event!

All the best,

Kevin Stockslager
