Restaurant Chains Expect Boost from NFL Deal


NEW YORK — It’s game time for the bar-and-grill chains and pizza-delivery industry that will benefit from a football season this year, now that the National Football League lockout has ended. NFL players’ representatives approved an agreement reached with team owners Monday afternoon, ending the labor dispute that since March 11 has caused unrest among businesses supported by the Sunday afternoon games. “There’s a trickle-down economics at play with NFL economics, and ultimately that trickle reaches us,” said Pizza Hut U.S. Chief Executive Scott Bergren. “Ending the lockout is very important to our fans and to our business.”
